Are older Sociologist right by having only THREE classifications for Race? Do those classifications need to change? If so, how would you classify them?

Yes, in my opinion they are incorrect. Although, these three classifications may sound right, they are not. There are many more races since there are interracial marriages, and as an effect there are children being born who are not part of one racial group but others. As an effect, the three classifications need to change into a more broader vision of races. So, sociologists should take this into consideration. There should be other races other than those three listed, for the people who are apart of multiple races. Many different races are passed on by genes and so, even though one person may be classified as one race based on their appearance, they really can be a multiple mix of races in their genes.
Are sociologists right for having only three classifications? Yes. But if it came to the biological view, then no. Sociologists look at race and these classifications from a social perspective and to see how we would react to them, whereas biologically physical traits would be given a lot more emphasis which is when these groups would have to be vastly elaborated on, and a majority, if not all people would classify a person into either one of those three groups. We have viewed people as a spectrum, with white on one side, and black on the other side. The resulting area in between is where the mongoloids would fit, informally being "brown" "yellow" and any other mixes (for example, natives). There should be a few more groups under mongoloids because, for example, some people wouldn't classify orientals and middle easterners under the same category.. but this idea of classification leaves us no choice. Because of this, the requirements for these classifications should be updated because not all mongoloids have 'folds on their eyelids' and such.
I think they are incorrect. There aren't just three classifications of races. The world is so diverse and there are so many races, how can we just have three classifications? It's like saying there are three classifications of ice cream. In reality there are a million ice cream "races". A mixed race is also another kind of race. There is just such a vast amount of different races and it is very incorrect to just have three classifications.
I dont believe that they're right because not everyone in todays world fall into the 3 categories that they made. In todays world it is very diverse and there are people of all colors, race, and not evryone can fit in JUST ONE categories...some people can fall into one or more, then what do they do, what can they say they are?
Older sociologists are incorrect in thinking that there is only three classifications for race. These classifications only covered a small number of the popluation of the world. There are many different races that do not belong to those groups. Not only does the groups leave some races out but they are not true for the ones that they cover. Not every person with pale skin has wavy hair and every dark skined person has tight curls. These groups should be eliminated. There is no way that you are going to get them so that they can classify each member of a race.
Mongoliods, caucasoids, and negroids are the three classifications of race that i feel deffinitely should be updated and changed for many reasons. When i first learned about these three categories, it really didnt dawn on me how different things are today than back in the day. Poeple now a days are mixed with different backgrounds, and people should not be classified in these categories. People are put in these categories based on there skin color, adn i dont feel this is correct, especially because there is so many different ethnitcities today. this is why i feel there needs to be a change in what these sociologists say.
in my opinion these 3 classifications of race are not touching all types of race. they are not right for only haveing 3 types of race. when you look at mongoloids the classification covers all asians. and that includes all of asian. there are tomany types of races in the mongolod chategory and way to vague. these classifications need to change. the mongoloids need to chage to other clssifications witch seperates middle eastern from the manin land of asia. i would seperate the maninland classifications of asians and seperate them from the middle eastern folks.
I think that older sociologists were a little more narrow minded then the predecessing sociologist of today. But i do think that if you were to try to clump every race into three main ones you would have alot of confusion. So yes three is to few.But I could never imagen making separate groups with specific characteristics for each one because there are just to many. One idea i had was to make each country a separte race. But when you come to American none of that will apply. in reality there are so many people and everyone is different. So until i see a good way to separate races im just gunna call everyone i meet friend.
I believe that older Sociologists are wrong by having only three classifications for race. This world is so diverse and there are so many different types of people. Its hard to classify people into the three groups of African American, Caucasion and asian. In the world today there are so many types of people for example hispanic, Chinese and Japanese for hispanics to be classified as African America is wrong, and for people to classify all chinese and japanese people are Asian is also wrong. They each have there own qualitys that make them different although there are similar qualitys there are different things that seperate them and they should be classified in there own groups. I feel as though these three groups should change and there should be more classifications. They should be classified based on there cultures, hispanic should be there own, chinese should be there own and etc. They should not be grouped into one of the three groups just because they are similar, they should be able to have there own group. Many children who are born today are white and asian it would be hard to classify them in one of the groups because they can be either or. I feel as though there should be many more classifications of people.
I think that sociologists are not right by having only three classifications for race. In our world today it is impossible to say that we only have caucasoids, mongoloids and negroids. I think that it would be hard to have a set amount of races in the world because people marry with not only people of their own race and so the list of races would be impossible to fully complete and have a set number of races in the world.
I do think that older sociologists are wrong in summing up the entire population into just three races. One reason I feel this way is because the people being classified often don't fit the physical traits to be in that group but clearly wouldn't fit into any other group either. I also think this is wrong because throughout history due to places like America people often engage in inter-racial relationships which make it even harder to classify an individual on race alone. Because of this it would be impossible to define any new classified races because people are constantly marrying outside of their races and ethnic groups so there will always be someone who doesn't fit the physical characteristics.
I disagree with the idea of having only 3 groups to classify race. There are people who do not fit into a category of negriod, caucasiod, or mongoloid. For example, in Asia, there are many different cultures and different kind of people not all people are asian. A person from the phillipines would fall under the mongoloid characteristics but really they are not asian they are pacific islander. Furthermore, someone who is hispanic would not have a category. They are neither white nor black. The three groups to classify race are entirely incorrect.
