Death Photos...

Do you think that the White House should release the death photo of Osama bin Laden? What actions could this have on race relations if released? Thoughts...

I strongly believe that the photos of Osama Bin Laden should remain confidential for many reasons. This could involve race relations because many races can look at this as a sign of disrespect. This could possibly cause an uproar among races. There is nothing to gain from releasing these photos, only mistrust and hatred from other countries.

I dont think that they should release the photo's because the people in them middle east could become very upset by it and another terrorist attack could be made. I know many Americans will not believe that he is dead without pictures, but it shouldn't matter what a few people think, it'll show in time that he really is gone and it will stop.

When thinking about the death photos of Osama Bin Laden that had been taken I personally feel that they should release them to the public. I feel this way because honestly sooner or later I think they will get out to the public no matter what, just like how Sadam Hussain's death video was released. Along with that I have personal feelings where sometimes it is hard to believe something without seeing it for myself. So by releasing the photos it would probably give more people a sense of security knowing for sure that he is dead. If the reason for not releasing the photos is because we are scared of another attack from the middle east, I just dont think that is really fair to say because in all reality we cant just guess/predict something like that from them. Us as a country should just be proud (in a non stuck up way) for his death and release the photos to give the country as whole a sense of security knowing for sure that Osama Bin Laden is dead.

I don't think the White House should relsease the death photo of Osama Bin Ladin. I know everyone is wondering whether or not it's actually true if they found and killed him but the truth is even if they released pictures we don't know if they're real or not or if they've been photoshopped in anyway. But I think it's in Obama's best interest to not release the photos because it will cause a lot of controversy with this country and other countries.

I am divided on this issue. On one hand I think that they should be released. By doing so people who were related to victims of 9/11 will get more closure and peace. They would be happy to see him dead. On the other hand, by releasing them it would cause so much anger from his followers and others in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The issue is if it would be worth it to release them and get the anger from the other countries. Which side is more important? Giving our citizens closure or keeping other countries happy. I guess the government is concerned about other countries more than their own citizens.

I do not believe that Osama bin Laden's photo should no be released. I feel like if the photo gets released that a lot of Saudi Arabian, and any Middle Eastern, people will get harassed. The reason I also mentioned Middle Eastern people is because a lot of younger people are just plain ignorant, and they will harass anyone who they think will be offended. Also, it just seems wrong to release any pictures. When that guy who had the video on his cell phone of Husain being hung, he was dealt with immidietely. So, this is along the same lines. It is not okay to release the picture at all.

I don't think the government should release the pictures of Osama because then the middle east will use them as propaganda to get people on their side and kill more of our soldiers. It's the safety of our soldiers that rest on these pictures, not if people believe if he's actually dead.

I believe that they should keep these photos under wraps. The fact that they even told the public that they took pictures of Osama dead will raise concern among race relations. If these pictures are released, I strongly believe that no positive outcome will come out of it, other than the fact that the public will know that it was really him. The White House should definitely keep this confidential for the safety of our country.

I do not think that the White House should post the death phot of Osama bin Laden. I think that would be very uncalled for and not necessary for the people of the United States to see them. If they were to be seen, then they would have been automatically posted. I think that if the pictures were posted, it would cause many disagreements. I think that it would give the United States the wrong reputation, and make it seem more disrespectful then intdended. There could be many fights breaking out, and I think that it would make United States more of a target. There would be untrustworthy acitons breaking out, so therefore, posting the pictures would only lead to trouble.

I don't think that the White House should release the death photo of Osama bin Laden. I understand that some people want the photos to be released to prove bin Laden was killed, but I think this would cause more tension between the U.S. and the Middle East. I think that by releasing the death photo more problems would be caused, so it is best to keep them secret.

I have to agree with the decision made to keep the photos confidential and not released because it would be offensive to certain people, and would have impacts on race relations in a negative way. certain people may find the photos offensive and may use them as propaganda to show hatred towards the United states which could cause further problems for the U.S. I believe that no good would come from releasing the pictures and it would only cause problems for the united states.

I think that the photos of Osama Bin Laden should be shown to the public. there are still doubts in the american public that he is really dead, so showing these photos will end the debate. There is much to gain from this type of news.

Bin Ladens photos should remain as top secret, government only photographs because they already knew about his death six days before us, there's a lot of things the government keeps from us. That was a major accomplishment of Obama's and could be very offending to his race and supporters as well as humiliating; it's already bad enough what the tabloids are spreading about a task the U.S. has been trying to complete for years. U.S. just wants to be known as the best because that's our culture, the picture would be released for American citizens "glory", and Osama's race could finding offending- "gloating".

I'm somewhat divided on this issue of releasing the death photos of Osama Bin Ladden. I know of many people who still think that he really isn't dead because of the fact that their is no proof or photos of his death. So I think it would give some closure to those people who don't believe it. But I also think it shouldn't be released because it could start a whole bunch of other problems. Releasing his photo could be a sign of disrepect by towards his followers and race. This could cause more problems and more violent situations from retaliation which this country doesn't need. I think that other countries will even think that it's disrepectful of us to show the photos and that may cause other people to be against us and cause more hatred.

I believe that the government shouldn't release the photos of Osama Bin Laden because it would lead to more tension between the U.S. and other middle eastern countries such as Afghanistan and could just fuel the terrorist determination to get revenge for their fallen leader.

I believe that the White House should release the photo of Osama bin Laden's death in order to reassure the American people that he is in fact dead. Also, I disagree with a couple of the reasons that were stated to the American people on why the photo could not be released. One that struck me was because the photo was too graphic or gruesome, as if the American people have not seen gruesome photos of war in their past already. Take the photos from Hiroshima for example, I can almost guarantee that some of the photos of children with their flesh burned off of their backs that we see in our classrooms can compare to that of Bin Laden if they are not in fact worse. We are at a state of war with Al-Qaeda. War in general is very cruel, so what would be the issue with showing the photo? I believe that we are going to get retaliation from Al-Qaeda regardless if we do or do not show the photo. I am sure they will not show us more mercy because we did not show the picture of their dead leader; and they will definitely not show us less mercy because we have.

I believe that the photos of Bin Laden should be kept confidential because showing them will cause more problems with Al-Qaeda. Since the photos are said to be gruesome, they shouldn't be shown to the public even though, a lot of people have doubts about him being dead or not.

I believe that the death photos of Mr. Laden should not be released to the public. I feel this way because it is pointless. Why should we as Americans need photos to believe the a national terrorist is dead. We should be able to trust government enough to believe them when the say they killed Bin Laden. Unless we are fascinated by seeing photos of a dead guy, which would be really sick and twisted on our part. If these photos are released to the public it will anger our enemies even more. It will give them another reason to hate us. If i were Sunni Muslim i would be offended if these pictures were released. Soldiers did what needed too be done and thats that i don't see a need to brag about killing someone.

I couldnt decide upon this becuase first of all I think that they should release the photos to show America what happened to him after all of the damage that he did to our country. He deserves more then death but showing pictures to the public definatly wont affect much people at all. That is my other thought about this is that the only race that will be offended might be the muslims becuase they will think its not right to show people pictures like that.

I believe that the White House should not release the death photo of Usama Bin Laden for both our homeland safety and the safety of our troops. If we were to release the photos of the body it may let Americans feel a sigh of relief knowing that public enemy number 1 is dead and it was confirmed with a picture. However if we were to release these pictures the Taliban may see it as insulting and may retaliate and launch more attacks on America. The release in the photos would result in more retaliation than satisfaction. For race relations this may give Al-queda more reason to influence others to join them just by pointing out how we would disrespect someone dead and may anger them and cause them to join in retaliation. Therefore, the negatives outweigh the positives.

I do believe that they should release the picture. I think that a lot of people want to see it just for the closure and actually believe our government seeing that there's a huge base that believe that 9/11 was a conspiracy.
There's a lot of distrust regarding the Taliban and for our government to not release a picture of their dead leader for not very good reasons sorta makes you question it. Whats the difference if we put it up or not? He's still dead and those groups will still hate us. As for the actions on face relations, it could cause extremist groups to retaliate against us.

I don't believe that the photos of Osama Bin Laden should be released. Many people say it will bring closure that he is dead however I personally don't think that a picture will make their closure happen. In our century they're so many photo altering programs that with the right skills people can make any picture look believable, so seeing the picture don't necessarily prove all that much. I think releasing the pictures would cause further issues, and might alter the security we have currently, it would bring further unnecessary cause for tension.

In my opinion the picture of osama should be released. Lots of people believe that its fake and we have no trust in our goverment. so if they do release it, it will show us the people in america that they werent joking an d that its true.

Although I feel Americans have a right to see proof that Osama is dead, I believe it would be too touchy a matter to openly release a picture to the public. It is clear that by releasing a picture of Osama's corpse could create some serious issues for our country, and could potentially spark another terrorist attack from bin Laden's supporters. In my opinion, I'd rather our country not spark up more tension in the Middle East by sending out photos. Better safe then sorry!

By releasing the death photo of Osama Bin Laden our government could receive much unwanted racism. Also, after the Obama birth certificate circus, the government would just be showing the people if they complain enough they will give them what they want. On the basis of race, the picture could fuel the fire of bad feelings toward Al-Qaeda and similar looking middle-eastern peoples. The American people should be able to have faith in our government and should not need proof that they successful took out Osama.

I think that the White House should not release the death photo of Osama Bin Laden. It would be an unnecessary, cruel, and dangerous move on their part. In medieval times, riots would put heads of their killed enemies on stakes and have a celebration. Releasing these pictures would be an equivalent action to this, at least acccording to me. We would be making a mockery out of the situation and people all over the world, not only in his race, would be outraged. It could cause our relations to dissolve with some countries if the pictures were released especially in the Middle East because it would be a sign of disrespect to them and they in turn would have feelings of hate towards us.

I think that the photos should be released to the public. It would definately calm down the people who are unsure if this is true. Of course without any proof, some people are skeptical. It would make the public feel more...secure.

I feel that this is a very controversial issue. You have people that do not want to have the photo released because of the nation's security and the disrespect it would show. Others feel that it should be released because they feel that it is justified and that we deserve to see proof of his death. Personally I do not feel that it is necessary that we see his death photo. I do not wish to see a dean man who has killed thousands of people from my country. I also think that it is not appropriate for children to have access to the photo. I think it is not okay to show the kids in our country this violence and show pride in killing a man. Overall I feel that it is not necessary for the White House to release this photo because there are more negative outcomes that will come from it.

I strongly think that it’s not necessary for the White House to release a photo of Osama bin Laden. I don’t think that I would be good for the country to show this picture because it can cause an emotional effect to the people that lost family on 9/11.but I know that some people would like to see that photo so they have closure that a horrible man is dead. Furthermore, I think it would just add to his legacy and make him famous which should not happen, the U.S should forget that man. Additionally, I think it would set back the relationship between races. Over the years people have been divided and now is when we see less of it and this would be a major set back. This could cause an uproar among races and more racism and discrimination. There is nothing to gain from releasing these photos only mistrust and hatred from different countries and races.

Personally, I believe that the white house should not release photos of Osama’s death. My reasons behind this are that if we released the photos, other countries might think of us as ruthless or violent and horrible people. Also because if it was released people that get their hands on this photo can tamper with it and do anything they want with it making the whole country look bad if they made jokes about it or something along those lines that disrespect their culture and his death. This can make other countries think we are racist or people in are own country believe that we are racist. That can create more terrorist attacks and just lead to more war and killings.

I don't think the prseident should release the death photos of Bin Laden because the bad feelings towards middle eastern people is bad enough already. Releasing the photos would only bring up more bad feelings and start more trouble. It's best that the country just let the conflict with Bin Laden and middle eastern people die along with him.

I do not believe that his death photos should be shown. People should just trust the governemnt that they killed him. Also no one ask's for death photos of anyone else. He did do horrable thing's to the world but he still should have at least some respect and trust the he is dead. If they are relased it could also cause greater problems.

The Bin Laden photos have, and always will be a controversial issue. Let's be real here - Every decision our government makes creates heated debate between the citizens it effects. Let's look at the two sides. If the photos aren't released, the classic arguement of First Ammendment rights and "vital information" being witheld from citizens will arise. On the contrary, if the photos are released, it will bring about public concern for national security, discrimination, humility/humanatarianism, etc. Let's face it, some people believe the photos are an important doccument, and some people want to get their fix of the new age social media, in laymens terms, seeing a dead body of an international criminal mastermind with his brains hanging out. Personally I can't care less if the photos are released, but all I know is that either way, heated debate will arise over the subject on an international scale.

i think they should because its hiding reality from American citizins back in the Vietnam war they showed everything that was going on and filmed a lot of the battles that were taken place and all the American soldiers that were dying everyday so i think they should release the death photo of bin laden if they can release films of Americans dying in Vietnam

quran.beckett said...

yes, the photos should be released. because the security of our people is by far more important than anything else in our country, this picture should be shown. it would satisfy those who doubts of his death. the photo would also fix all the controversy and beliefs that he still walks this earth, or that we never killed him to begin with. osama bin laden did damage to our country, releasing the pictures is the least they can do if that's what the people want. and for the religious views on not releasing them, i don't think that should apply. our military has killed hundreds if not thousands of people from the same organization and country as bin laden... that's enough all on its own. killing hundreds is okay but not releasing the photo of one dead man?

sciccotti1122 said...

I do not believe that we should realese the photos of Osma Bin Laden. Although there are many doubts if he is actually dead or not im sure a picture could easily just be faked. Making them completely pointless. Exposing a picture of him could cause problems for our country that are not needed.

I don't think that the White House should release the death photo of Osama Bin Laden. This is because it could anger many of the people on his side, and we never know what other kinds of terrorist attacks can occur. There is also a large chance that workers in the White House, especially the president could get killed because of their decision. These pictures shouldn't be released just to prove that he is dead because it could cause many bigger problems and most people do believe that he is dead because they have seen the pictures elswhere so that is good enough.
